As Sony's PlayStation Plus service goes from strength to strength, so too does the number of users subscribed. 47.6 million is the latest statistic come the end of fiscal year 2020, which is an increase of 6.1 million compared to Q4 of fiscal year 2019. The service has gained 200,000 further memberships in the space of two months, since the last count of 47.4 million took place in early February.
Many subscribers have noted an improvement in the sort of PS5 and PS4 titles offered as part of PS Plus' monthly game giveaway, which may have helped bolster the numbers. That includes the likes of Final Fantasy VII Remake on PS4 and Control: Ultimate Edition and Destruction AllStars on PS5. Then there's the PS Plus Collection, which grants PS5 owners access to a long list of excellent titles without any extra charges.

Amazing how far this service has come.
I'm one of those 200,000, though I've yet to receive my free refrigerator magnet.
Mine is up June 30th. It's been good of late, but then Sony just gave us 10 games for free, free free, so I'll probably let it lapse at least until I can find a PS5, which going by the replies I've received recently, could be mid-2022, in part b/c I'm lazy and don't like making any real effort.
Haven't had PS+ in a long time cause I don't play online and most of the "free" games I already own or I'm not interested in
do they ever put out the numbers for PS Now? For a service that gets little to no advertisement I'm quite curious to see how it's doing, when I Google it I never seem to get an up to date answer.
@Kopite As far as I can tell, the last time PS Now subscribers were reported was in May 2020 with a count of 2.2 million. There may be an updated stat out there though and I can't find it in our database.

Thanks @LiamCroft thats the number I saw as well would be good to see an updated figure. I suppose that isn't a bad number considering they don't do much to let you know its there.
I’ve always been a member apart from 1 year when I had ps now (which was also great). I’d still pay for both if Sony would stop duplicating games. I must say, the games have been of a very high standard recently.
PS Now is an absolute bargain if you never buy any games (ever). Especially at the new reduced price for a 12 month sub.
I have been loving this service and it has let me experience so many games that I would never have thought to buy. Well worth the money and I can't wait to see where it goes from here.
I have PS Plus now since around 6 months (just before getting my PS5) and only have played games from the PS Plus collection actually.
When are the games of May announced?
I've been subscribed since 2010. It's definitely an excellent service and a must for PlayStation fans!
Im good for November 2022.i will get another one on ebay for 30$.word up son
My PS+ runs out in a few months, and if I still haven’t got a PS5 by then I won’t be renewing it! Not that I’m bitter 😉
@LordSteev Post up your address and I’ll send you one of a cat thinking all the humans are it’s slaves 🤣
I've never had ps+. If there's a game I want, I'll buy it. I don't play multiplayer so see no reason to have it
I joined in March. I managed to buy a ps5, my first ever PS console. Couldn't be happier with it and the PS Plus membership.
Been a member for years.
Just my racing games (F1) and playing online co-op games with my cousins and brother is worth the price.
If I get a few free games I wanted to play it is icing on top.
Amazing how bad ps plus is compared to xbox games pass.
@MatthewJP
Sooo you dont buy games...how many non internet required single players games released this year? Unless you buy those crap indie games.
@BansheeNorn last purchases were last of us 2, cyberpunk, ghost of tishushima, disco elysium, and next will be Resident Evil 8. But yeah, there are no single player games aside from crap indie ones 🙄
@BansheeNorn Indeed. Just don’t mention the amount of £1 for 3 month subscriptions or why Xbox have to do that to get any kind of foothold 🤣
I swear Sony has turned the service from a side thought to a must have in less than a year. I remember early last year the games were pretty cruddy each month and a lot of complaints. Ever since the PS5 came though they've really upped their game. I appreciate the free games and am subbed for a couple more years.
@JapaneseSonic It came indeed soon after my messages. Too bad those are not too great
I've been a PlayStation Plus subscriber for almost 4-5 years now, regret not signing up day one.
So many damn good games are given away with the subscription, and you can easily buy Yearly subs for $30 at CDKeys.com
FF7 Remake alone made my sub worth it
